Fairs and Festivals for 2019

The following is a list of the fairs and festivals which I exhibit and demonstrate at each year. I may be at other shows, as well. Feel free to call or e-mail me for more information. At each event, I will have a nice selection of my wares which include; hats, pizza weaving kits, drop spindle kits, felt a hat kits, felt a ball kits, felted soaps, felted balls, photo cards featuring the sheep I raised in the past, fiber to spin, yarns, and much more.

In recent years I have been a vendor at several local events.  The list changes with the year.

January, 2019

The Buy Local Marketplace  which is part of  Consumer Night (Thursday from 4-7PM)  of The Vermont Farm Show at The Champlain Valley Fairgrounds.  I was a vendor there this year, and I’ve been a vendor for the past several years.  I probably will do it again.

February 16th, 2019

NOFA Winter Conference is held at The Davis Center, UVM, Burlington, VT.  For many, many years I was a vendor in the market which is part of the event.  In 2016 I taught a class in how to add income to the farm or homestead by turning the fiber from your fiber animals into yarn or finished products that could be sold.  Half of my students came to my shop/studio during that year, for more instruction.  I loved working with all of those who came.  This year (2019) I taught a class at NOFA’s winter conference “How To Save Seeds”.  I also sold my seeds and donated seeds at this year’s Seed Swap.  I feel strongly that NOFA-VT is an organization we need to support!  We need to carry forward the work that Enid Wonnacott carried this far.

September (Saturday only)

Shelburne Farms Harvest Festival held each year at Shelburne Farms in Shelburne, Vermont.  It occurs in mid-to-late September on the Saturday, and it’s a wonderful event.  I love being a vendor/demonstrator there and I intend to be present in 2019.  A year is not the same without participating in this event.  I do a lot of teaching for free at this event.

Womens’ Festival of Crafts at City Hall, Burlington, Vermont.  I love the spirit of this event.  For 2019 it will be Saturday, November 30th and Sunday, December 1st.  I was a vendor in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.  If I am able to participate in 2019, I’ll be there. Please attend, if you can.

The Orchard Valley Holiday Fair takes place each year in mid-November, at Chapel Hall at Vermont College in Montpelier, VT.  I have been a vendor for the last couple years and I love being part of it.  I intend to participate again this year 2019, if I’m able.  I will publish more details as I know them.

**************************************************************************************Here I am with Senator Leahy at an agricultural fair arranged by VT State Dept. of Agriculture, Division of Foods and Markets.  I believe his mother had passed away, and I  shared a story with the Senator about how I remembered his mother who came  with a friend of mine, Rosalie Chase,  to visit my display/exhibit when I was a vendor at  a craft fair in Waitsfield, Vermont.  It was many years ago.  He was touched that I remembered her and their visit to my booth.   He called Marcel over to take a photo of us and he sent 2 copies to me, with a signed note, which  I appreciated.

Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site in Plymouth Notch, Plymouth, VT   There are several events in summer, fall and the Holiday Open House.  I try to demonstrate one or more times each summer.  You can always contact me to see if I will be there at a particular event.  Many years I have done a reading of my poetry at the Holiday Open House.  Adam Boyce, fiddler, has often accompanied me.
